Internship confirmed

March31

Ah, Thursday finally. I’ve had a very productive week, finished a lot of things, handed in assignments late and otherwise, registered for my classes for next fall and begun to begin to relax and get organized.

Oh yeah, and I filled out all my stuff for my internship this summer. That’s right folks I got my internship at SONIC FOUNDRY!

Yeah! They emailed me two days after my interview. The interviews which did go well, though I spilt coffee on my hand twice, heh. I’m so excited! Its going to an awesome summer, I’ll be able to get some school credit, work in a field I love and be near to Boy, and skip out on rent by living at home! Yeah, it’ll be nice!

Anyway, things are slowly getting caught up, I’ve been waking up early and moving non-stop through web work and work work and home work.

Ah, well, I need to get home and take a nap or something, I’ll have to talk to you all later.

This is just a quik note to tell you I’m still alive…

Melanie, are you?
Ciao

burning out

March10

My head hurts, my jaw hurts. The hurt I have begun to associate with stress and procrastination. Boy mentions that ‘he told me so’, when we discuss my inability to motivate myself this week before Spring break.

He tells me it’s burnout, I think I’m only close to that. I think that my week of break will go too fast. I do hope that I’ll be recharged for the last weeks of my junior year.

A few things have been added to Quixotica this week.

  • Galleries of the Absurd: Updated and Added to.
  • New Art in Quixmix: Made during my Computer Graphic Apps course while Frank explained how to make circles and swooshes with the pen tool.
  • The bio page was updated not too long ago, but I’m still not happy with it, I really want to make a page that will help you see who I am, any suggestions?
  • Brabus’ War Journal: Content in progress
  • I joined two webrings for exceptional web site designs, you can find them on the main page for now. Exception and Dysis. I might make a webring section sometime if having those links on the main page annoy me too much.

Mmm,enough for tonight, perhaps I can accomplish something before falling asleep.

Plattecon, yah!

March9

I had the best weekend I can remember all year. The most relaxing, the most rewarding,
the most incredible overall weekend experience!

Plattecon was last weekend, Boy was around, we spent alot of time playing cyber punk, playing mystery rummy, chatting with Tony
and Heidi. I even won the mystery rummy tournament that Heidi ran, and the prize was a $50.00 certificate for
U.S. Games Systems, Inc. And got a sourcebook for a really awesome new game called
Tribe8. Boy is buying me the main sourcebook this week, Heidi and I skipped around the Con hand in hand when I got the Vimary Book. Boy seems really excited, he’s already bought the Tribe8 book and
read in it, ordered one for me. Heidi and I are going to run it. The art is incredible, and
is based in a post-apoc. world. WOOO!

Anyway, I do feel better about not having a minor anymore, much more relaxed, All i have to do is makeup the work that got behind during the ordeal of code.

And joy upon joy, my three hour night class was cancelled! WOOO!!! That means I get to go to Spamm tonight and watch anime and relax with their free pizza (Spring break party).

Speaking of Spring Break, that happens next week, I can’t wait, even though I have no big plans or trips. It’ll still be nice to get ahold of Josh and see Boy and my ‘Rents(Pa and Ma)

May you have a great and wonderous night!

Let it all go

March2

So, it’s over, I’ve dropped my minor. And that programming class.

I was working so hard at. And it’s not really a failure, I worked harder than I have in a long time, and was working my way out of the hole. I can do it, just not in this semester with all these other courses.

So, at the behest of my professor, my parents and my stressed out psyche,
I let it all go.

I’ve decided to crumble my pride, and throw away the thing that was slowly eating away at my sanity. Hopefully this will make for a kinder
happier, more glee-ridden stacie. At the very least it means I won’t have to wake up as early for classes three times a week. I’ll be able to concentrate on my other classes, and perhaps actually take some of those art courses I have been wanting so badly. Perhaps glean some design skills and take figure drawing.

It also means I’ll be able to only do the programming I actually want to do, ie–cgi, perl, maybe some java. Work with some shockwave stuff, and reunite with the affair I have been holding with Adobe Photoshop (5).

Hmm, it’s still been a traumatic day, I’ve shaken and cried whilst filling out the min. paperwork for dropping such minor things as, uh…minors.

Well, Heidi needs to go to Dicks to use her Insider card, we better go.

Stress like sunburn

March1

Perhaps I should have updated this last week, at the height of my academic victory, where, after many hours working on my program for cs243,
I ran it through the grader at 97%.

Perhaps I should have burbled about my excitement over my achievement, my hard work, ect.

But I was too tired to bother.

And now, I recieved my program back, I Lost 6 points, 6! from stupid documentation errors. The program Works! it does what it is supposed to, but I get a C because of documentation.

My next program is due next monday, I have a quiz on friday.

This last one did bring my grade up in the class, from a 31% to a 37%. Argh, I’m so disgruntled. I can do the work, I just feel stress like a sunburn
today, beating down across my skin. I’m really upset. And, my two friends who joined the course with me dropped out in the last two weeks. So I have no one to commiserate with.

(Heavy Sigh)

This class is do-able, but with a full 18 cred load, it’s gonna be hard.

In other news, I did get myself a Furby.

A white one.

It’s name is Toh-Loo-Kah, same as the one from the famous Furby Autopsy.

This week does not look like much fun…

Papers, assignments that didn’t get done due to the program come due, spring break is the week after next, I know I can survive that long.
