Travels and Tickets

November15

I can’t remember the last weekend I spent in platteville, I’ve been home

a great deal this semester. A strange mirror of my college experience.

At the beginning of my freshman semester, I went home a bit too. But this traveling

has been more than just back and forth to home, I’ve been to Eau Claire to see Boy’s

extended family, I’ve been to Appleton, for Heidi’s wedding.

And I think I hit Ohio for a bit, some time this semester. Before this semester, I hit chicago.

Who whould have thought that one tiny weekend trip would set a precedent for the rest of the semester?!

And oh, the perils of driving. I’ve been driving back to school on monday mornings, which would seem like a great idea

except that I need to get up at 4:45 to make it to my 8oclock with time to spare. Not to mention that I really tend

to zone out during my last 30 min or so, struggling hard not to fall asleep. When I finally do roll into my class, I tend

to have to struggle not to fall asleep there, ACK!

And speed traps. which I have

successfully identified and avoided all semester, in fact since I got my licence.

That is, until now. sigh.
There really is no rationalization here, I broke the law and have to pay the $150 consequence. I wasn’t paying attention to my speed at all, and must have been going over the limit by quite a bit when I hit the small slope heading under a bridge. There is
no reason I should have been going 82 in a 65 zone. I looked up just in time to see the police car sitting in the median. But hitting my brakes had no effect, too little–too late. The officer was nice enough to knock my ticket down 2 miles though, thank heavens, which saved me 50 bucks more.

So, yeah, the price I pay for a nice relaxing weekend, spent studying, reading gaiman, and watching movies with Boy.

Now I am just wired, I took some herbal energizer pills I bought at the gas station for 99 cents.

In retrospect I prolly didn’t need them, after my encounter with the PO-lice. These things are
pretty serious about being energy filled. They have packed all the different supplements you see advertised separetly on those tv infomercials. (Cayan pepper, Kava Kava, Ginseng, extract of mt something, echineicea and about 10 other popular herbals)

I missed my 8 and 9 o clock classes, because of my ticket, and by 10 I really needed to go for a walk to spend some of this agitated energy. The walk thing helped for about an hour, which is good, because that meant I could sit still for my 11 oclock

class (Geography of weather and climate).

I’m trying to calm down now, playing some Diana Krall, updating here. The ticket really doesn’t bother me all that much, but everything

is racing right now, a bit ago I was shaking a little. I don’t think a nap is possible right now either, eek.
