Magic Weekend

September15

I’ve been engaged for just over a week, what a sweet thing it is.

And it’s autumn outside. I love this season, the air is cool, you are cold in the shade, but when you catch a beam of light, you feel like the sun is tenderly kissing you. The warmth of the sun in the crisp air feels like a secret, just learned.

It just feels like magic. The wind makes the trees dance, the leaves now have barely begun to turn, but soon, you can tell, the world around us will burst into fire and gold.

Last Friday we had such a good time, we had so many people get together for dinner and karaoke. Becky and Drew, and Wendy and Heidi and Todd(for a bit), and Jason, Doug,Chris and Jenni, Christian,Mike, Tony, Jon, 5. Wow! It was awesome to get with all our friends, and everyone got to hear again, how he proposed, and see my ring, and we got a couple gifts and cards, It was way cool. We went to chili’s where I ate the perfect combination of fajita quesadillas and chatted with Wendy and Becky about wedding stuff. And then, the staff came out and sang to us, it was so cool, and they gave us these huge goblet bowls of ice-cream with hardshell chocolate and whipped cream, yummy!

Then some of us went downtown to Karaoke Kid, and it was packed (very hard to find a parking spot to begin with) and we got our songs in right away. We still had to wait an hour for them to come up in the rotation, and we didn’t get to sing many (they take the book away after a certain time, so they can close the bar eventually) But it was sooo much fun, it’s one of the smallest bars, but it’s totally packed with people singing and dancing, in fact, I lost my voice way before I got to go up and murder ‘My favorite things” with Jenni.

But the best part was when Carlo got to the mic and sang Billy Idol’s White Wedding. (I love it when men sing, anyway) Billy is one of Carlo’s old favorites, it was so sweet, so it was fitting, even if the song is tongue in cheek. I had to keep pushing some of the guys around down in front of the mic so I could watch him better, and snap a couple pics. heh. It was a truly amazing birthday party for the both of us(carlo’s is in september, mine in august)

We plan on more karaoke next week, it’s so much fun there

The rest of the weekend was mostly role playing in Platteville, we had such a great time. It’s hard to describe the sense of it all, to have such a wonderful weekend as we did.

Ace and Jess, regrettably had to miss out on our extravaganza, but wanted to have us go out to Ginza and a movie tonight, we can’t wait!

Enjoy the magic of this season,

Stacie
