Welcome to the New Year

January8

Look, I’m here ;), everything’s ok, Quixotica is fine.

I have, however, had a strange few weeks.

We did all go to Ohio, saw a ton of family, got to stay at my cousin’s house with her an her husband. We also got to see Carlo’s great-uncle and his second cousin and her husband. They live in Cincinnati.

We also dropped into Kentucky for about 5 minutes, Carlo bought a paper to prove it. It was a really good time over all, my cousins have gotten much taller(one taller than me), and grow up(getting his license, has a girlfriend). I’m not quite sure how that all happened, I must have been gone longer than I thought.

And everyone seemed to really like my fiance, which is very nice, considering, of course the upcoming wedding.

Speaking of wedding(woo!), My maid of honor, Becky, and her mother, came down this past weekend to spend some time with my mother and I. Becky’s mother used to own a flower shop, and has offered to help arrange some of the flowers for us. We went to a liquidators place, and got a ton of decorations, mostly silk flowers for an awesome price. It was so cool to see the mothers get all excited. Then, we dropped by a wedding shop and I tried on wedding dresses, and I think we found one that’ll be perfect. It’s beautiful, fits fairly well, and is a totally unbelievably low price. (yah!) Standing there, in front of the mirrors, with a veil draping down my hair onto my back, I was overwhelmed with emotion. It’s crazy, I’m actually trying on wedding dresses, I’m actually getting married. wow.

And well, most of last week and this week has been full of resumes, interviews, and recruiters. I’ve been extremely busy job searching. Tell you what! :) If you think I might make a good fit at your company, send me an email, telling me where you work, and I’ll send them a copy of my resume. Yes, you, even you could work in the company of a Quixotic chick. ;)

Still, it all feels pretty strange, it’s a new year, and I easily switched from writing 2000 to 2001, but a year ago, I could have never guessed I’d be searching for a job like this. I know it’s a good thing though. I’m ready to learn some new skills, meet some new people. There is a lot of exciting things held within this year. I’ll be married, working somewhere different, hopefully have lost some weight in there too. I can’t wait to see what is in store.

Have a good week,

Stacie
