November2
Halloween! I dressed up in my ren gear, and black wig at work! woo, one of the few to dress up. Everyone loves my costume, someone even said I looked good with black hair. I even brought my sword to show off, and lots of people thought that it was pretty awesome. I should take some pics of it, and put them up for people to see here.
I went with the conservative breasts at work. I didn’t ‘fluff’ them up as much as the ren people tell me to. Still looks pretty scandalous for my workplace I suppose, but not as crazy cleavy as I usually wear them in the outfit.
heh. Breasts as fashion accessories
They brought in kindergarten/daycare kids to trick or treat, they were so cute. Little tigers and witches and pirates. One little girl was so timid and just held out her bag, I asked her, ‘What do you say?’ and she squeaked out a tiny ‘Please’, it was far to hard to say no to her that I just plopped the sucker in her bag. You can’t punish a child for saying please, heh. So cute. I love Halloween.!!
I brought brain Jell-O to work, I was also going to bring witches fingers, but ran out of time/patience when I had to let the dough rise for an hour. It was late, and I was getting far too tired to poach and cook doughy fingers. But oh, you should have seen me Halloween night, trying to poach dough that wouldn’t shape itself into fingers, me, standing over a pan full of hot water and giggling like I do when I watch ‘Whose line is it anyway”. It was just the most absurd thing, thanks Martha, what were you thinking! I got fed up and just used the dough to make rolls. They tasted kinda pretzely, and yummy, with a hint of almonds.
Then I got the other witch finger recipe off the internet. Those were so much easier to whip together, and just needed a bit of time in the fridge for chilling the dough. They required no boiling poaching madness, and shaped much easier into fingers and knuckles. The almond finger nails were also very amusing, I added red decorating gel underneath them to help them stick on the cooked cookies, and they looked bloody, hee. So much better than the first recipe.
That’s all we had to eat, Halloween night, spooky malformed pretzely rolls, and witches fingers. We ate those, drank milk and played Alone in the Dark for dreamcast. ooh spooky…
I wish Halloween lasted longer. I just kinda ran out of energy to do anything more. I hit the sack around 9:30, exhausted, readying myself for yesterday, the start of NaNoWriMo.
2210 words last night! I’m so excited. It felt so nice to wake up this morning, knowing I had accomplished something last night. So far I can fit about 1000 words in an hour.
I wrote in the bedroom, with a lit candle, plenty of light, and music after I straightened up a bit, made the bed, shoved the laundry into distinct piles, and replaced a bulb in one of the lamps.
It’s so nice, I don’t have time to think about the enormity of it all, I just have to sit down and write about 2000 words a night.
The mini tape recorder is handy, just a few remembered thoughts let me hook into an idea and flesh it out, for several paragraphs.
I have three files so far, one for names, one for story ideas, and one for the novel.
Thrilling, indeed.
