Best picture ever!

Thursday, December 20th, 2001

I just got my license renewed, and I got the Best Picture! red hair, my glasses, and a great smile, yah. the lady let me take the pic like 8 times, heh, though i blinked twice, I was so nervous. Kinda reminds me of school pictures… I was so pleased that I named the picture lady on the comment card as being so cool.

This license lasts for 8 years, it’s so strange to think where I’ll be then, what I’ll be like. It’s entirely possible that within 8 years, we’ll have children, strange to think of now, when I’m still really trying to figure out what Stacie is like, and what she likes and how to be an adult and stuff. But yeah, I mean 8 years, who knows?

We were in Platteville last Sunday, it was very odd, we sequesterd ourselves in the library, and Tony mentioned, almost offhand, that it was graduation weekend. That means I’ve officially been out of school for 2 whole years. It’s gone soo fast.

Things Moving forward at work feels good, might get to launch the redesign next month, yah!

Still have shopping to do

Got the latest installment of Frank’s Vinyl Museum, yah! Frank’s Vinyl Museum This one featured gems from Ethel Merman, Fat Elvis, Glass Prism cool rendition of Poe’s Raven, and oh goodness, Ali and the Gang Vs Mr Tooth Decay, such a total crazy track. Frank only sends the choicest cuts on the albums out, so you know it’s got to be of some note!

ragnarok online–beta–when you just need another cute anime addiction.

Holiday Rush

Wednesday, December 12th, 2001

Wow, this week is going so fast by me, and I haven’t even recorded last weekend.

Friday we participated in a family Christmas tradition. We went to the Madison Christmas Celebration, at Lake City Church. It was amazing, and wonderful, like it is every year. I took Sarah, and she was surprised, like I am every year, at the animals, the real live Camels, the donkey, the fireworks, and the cute kiddy bell choir. They were dressed like little snow angels (fuzzy cotton outfits and little wings), and ringing colored bells. The lady directing them had colored cards that she showed them, when their color came up, they’d ring their bells.

There was one little angel on the end that would jump up and down, shaking his little yellow bells, and quickly stopping and pulling the bells in when the card would go away. All the other angels would just ring their bells, some shyly, some with more enthusiasm, but no one beat the little angel on the end, in fact, by the end of their song, the second angel in, also with yellow bells was jumping up and down with the angel on the end. I was laughing so hard, I couldn’t breathe. They were soo cute. There was also ballet dancing, swing dancing, large choirs, and a pageant of Christmas, but told from the viewpoint of the 3 kings.

Kinda sad though, this is the last time they are going to have such a huge Christmas production, it’s our tradition to go, don’t know what we are going to do next year.

Afterwards, we all headed out to Pizza Hut, my parents, Sarah, my brother and his friend Sara, and 2 other families. (Carlo also joined us there) After dinner we persuaded Sarah to play more Xbox with us.

Saturday, another Christmas tradition, the fam, and Carlo, went to Tate’s Tree farm for my parents Christmas Tree. It’s always so funny to watch my brother and Carlo stomping through the trees creaking jokes and being cracking, annoying my mom who’s got the video camera. ‘You ruined my video’ My brother cut the tree down all by himself, the first time we haven’t had Dad do it. It was a bit odd to be getting the tree with no snow on the ground, but fun as always.

Saturday night was my company holiday party. I didn’t think I’d have a good time, and it was really hard trying to get Carlo to remember that he needed to come too. But, we had a great time! I still don’t know many of the people who were there, but we sat at a table with Heidi and Jason(who used to be my boss), and the engineering guys and their dates. One of them likes to Autocross his Mrx, and he and Carlo and Jason talked about racing and cars a bit. It was pleasant dinner company.

After the dinner they had rented a casino for us! We all got 1500$ worth of chips and were given chances to make much more from that with games like blackjack, and craps and roulette. I’d never played roulette before, and it was surprisingly easy and fun, the chips were only worth 5 dollars, so you could play for a long time without losing too much at a time. I lost so much at blackjack, while Carlo did so well he was betting 500$ at a time, while I had gone down to 5$ chips. Anyway, it was a really good time, and at the end of the night, every 1500 worth of chips gained us a raffle ticket. I ended up with 3, while Carlo had 6 or 7. We didn’t win anything, but it was really a good time.

Sunday (full weekend), the Packers won over the Bears(yah!) and we had some of Carlo’s friends from a Grand Turismo game bulletin board. They had brought their Ps2’s but we mostly played Xbox. (their choice, really, we had to strong arm them into showing us Grand Theft Auto 3) More playing after dinner at Chili’s, they played till past midnight, though I had gone to bed, exhausted, and happy around 10.

A full, and happy weekend.

Auburn am I

Monday, December 3rd, 2001

Had a decent weekend. Saturday I went to the Salon ! woo! I am now a sexy red head! It’s a pretty auburn color and goes really well with my skin tone, yah! new hair, new hair! I’ll try to take some cam pics or something, to show it off, it’s so much fun.

Then we spent most of the afternoon moving my parents biz into a new warehouse they’ll be using. It’s a big deal, this is the first time ever the family biz has moved out of the house. Nice place too, has a garage door they can pull into and unload their boxes. It was kinda cold, hope they figure out the heat thing. My husband works for them, and I don’t want him to freeze his toesies! heh. Called Brian, poor guy, I can only get a hold of him when my mom needs something moved, but he’s a good sport and came to help out anyway.

After the moving bits(which they need to do more of next weekend) Brian, Carlo and I played Xbox, then headed over to Olive Garden. Brian went off to the club, and Sarah came over for more xbox(around 10). It was sooo late though, We did some racing(which she was really good at, and I was abysmal, 2 min behind them on one race) Then she wanted to see him race it in one person mode. (at this point I began to nod off, I actually fell asleep before she left, I was dead tired, couldn’t keep myself awake) It was so nice to see her though.

Sunday was pretty relaxing, I played Munch’s Oddessey on the Xbox till Carlo woke up, then we got bagels. (Saw some friends of my parents who raved over my hair, woo!)

Later, I did some laundry and decided to go to Half Price books, but stopped at the camera company first, to ask them if they could fix my poor elph camera, which won’t eject the film. :( Well I turned into the parking lot, and their was a parking space to my left, and a huge truck right in front of me that wouldn’t move, and they were kinda coming towards me, so I tried to turn quick into the left parking spot, but I didn’t have quite enough room and as I pulled in, I heard branches from the straggly bush scrape the side of the car, lightly.

This, I though, won’t do. So I tried to back up to get away from the branches, but, of course, I turned the wheel wrong, and ended up getting my mirror stuck in the bramble, and the branches were scratching harder. They were knotty and trimmed, and about the size of my pink finger, around, so pretty substantial branches. I almost had a nervous breakdown, I could barely pull forward, there was a car in the next spot, I was almost on the curb to the right, I couldn’t get out, and I was kinda on a slope, half outta the spot. I finally got it all figured out, but it looks like I’ve scraped through the clear coat on the white neon a bit. *sigh* grrr.

I finally did get to Half Price, and picked up some books int 2 series I was looking for, but not the next book in each of the series I need to read, ack! I picked those 2 up at Barnes and noble, and went home to read until we needed to do dinner with Carlo’s dad and his girlfriend.

Dinner was nice, steak sirloin, shrimp, rice and chocolate covered biscotti like cookies for desert. And lots of talking and stories from his Dad. He’s a very interesting person, though hard to get a hold of. Talia had some great pictures from our wedding, which we’ll get copies of later this week. Yah!

So, it was a good day briefly punctuated by a couple frustrating moments. So nice to have more books to read though. Nice and relaxing. snuggled into bed before sleep reading No Quarter by Tanya Huff.
