I spent the day with my mother, we managed some errands away from the
house, my brother kindly decided to hang out with Dad for the day. We had
a lovely lunch at the Claddagh over at the west side. I’d never been
inside that restaurant, it’s wonderful inside. Even though it’s a pretty
new building, they did what they could to make things appear like they’d
been there for years, weathered plaster and beams, and lots of different
places to sit. We shared a half order of the famous Fish and Chips, and
they were indeed fantastic. We also tried the corned beef and cabbage
spring rolls, which were delightful.

On our way out, we wandered into the Cheeseburger In Paradise restaurant
next door, because I hadn’t been in there either. What fun, all sorts of
beachy decorations, and they actually had one whole wall open to the
outside, (three garage doors), and a man playing trumpet and bongos waved
to us as we wandered into and out of the place.

After that I bought some new clothes for work from some of the stores
nearby. I’d been needing some new shirts and pants, and found lots to try
on.

Then, we finally did get to do the thing we’d gone over to the west side
to do in the first place, order my bridesmaid dress for user="jess_roqs"> september wedding!! They didn’t have one in my size to
try on, though I did try on another tea length dress to get an idea about
how the right one will fit. The dress should arrive in 4-6 weeks,
apparently. Next up will be shoes, though it doesn’t look like the store
that had them carries them anymore. Will have to investigate.

On our way home, we wandered by the Roselawn cementery, and walked around
a bit looking at the grounds, which were still covered in flowers from
memorial day. We found a few places that seemed nice for the place where
my parents will be interred. The lawns are well kept, and they have many
large and beautiful trees, no headstones, just plaques that lie flat on
the grounds, marking the plots, with an occassional engraved marble bench
here and there. The weather was fantastic, sunlight, light breeze. Made
it much easier to do. Mostly just an exploratory walk, nothing is decided
or paid for yet. Mom’s trying to get as many things done now, as they will
likely be 100x harder to do later.
