Happy Easter

April17

Had a great day with family today. Went to Easter service with my mom and brother, and then headed out to an awesome champange buffet in New Glarus with them, my husband and grandparents. Wow! I think that was the best buffet I’ve had in a long time. champange, lamb with mint sauce, brats und kraut, an amazing keish like thing called Cheese Pie, some of the best meatballs I’ve ever had and … oh yeah. a whole table of beautiful deserts, some of which of course had to be german traditional cookies. Also, it wasn’t as packed as nearly everywhere in Madison usually is for a holiday. I really want to go back. Also, New Glarus is a charming little town about 40 min away, it’s all german chalet’s and cute little touristy shops. One I noted through the rain was Edelwiss Bath and Body. hee.

Afterwards, my husband and brother and I headed out to see my father-in-law, who happened to be home. He has only met my brother a couple times, so it was nice to reintroduce them, and my bro got the full house tour. My father-in-law has spent a lot of time over the last year remaking parts of his house, he now has an amazing kitchen, and is working on a really nice patio currently.

From there, we went on an impromptu cruise in the supra, still in the rain. I mostly doodled character designs in the back seat, at least until it got too bumpy, and then took a short nap before returning home.

Since then, I’ve pretty much been photoshopping page 16, and watching the Food Network… this network makes me want to cook.

Oddcon for a day

April8

Had a great time at Oddcon today. Though unable to attend the whole weekend, I did manage to get all of Friday to spend there. As I walked in to register I saw Chris and (Who I’ve only known via lj lurking until this weekend. )
Ducked in and out of the programming, spent a lot of time with C & M, and managed to have a great dinner with them,
,, and her boy toy Jeff, we were also joined by and his lovely wife.

I’m so tired I can hardly type, and the previous paragraph doesn’t really include all the glee and squee from hanging out with lots of creative geektype people, or the laughter that ensues, or the funny british telly we watched after dinner.

still, wanted to record a bit, and remember that after checking out some bad art, an extensive Wonder Woman Art chaser is a delightful way to cleanse the mental palate.

~~~
Also, been working the arting this week, Jane and I have been getting out of house to art where we are less distracted. I’ve almost finished the inks for page 16! Really proud of this page, turning out the way I want! squee!
Hope to crank on the toning of pages 15-16 next week, and whip up a cover. whew. I think Kim wants to go to print with issue two next week. eee
Still, I think I should be able to do it. We already have a mockup book so we can start to see how all the pages are laid out.
After all that… I need to get started on the 4 color pages for the antithezine #4! Carlo and I might get to some of that tomorrow.
