I've had just a fantastic weekend. Finally got to have a huge party full of family, friends and filled this house with laughter. I really do love it here, feel at home. I love the peace, and am excited about the life I'll lead here.
Thanks so much for coming, everyone. Glad that could drive up with Brion from Chicago. It was a nice mix of work peeps, art peeps, and family. And so hilarious to watch everyone interact.
I am so blessed to be surrounded by so many fantastic people who really care for and about me. I love the life I've got. I love that my friends care enough to make me a pop-up card with characters from our comics! or take me out to see a musical, and love to play board games that make us laugh so hard it's amazing I was able to breathe.
I spent some time in Baraboo, checked out the amazing Turtle Island Bead shop, and got some art done in good company!

30 is already a great age to be. Wonder what I'll have accomplished by this time next year.
Wait and see!

I ran 10k yesterday in under 2 hours for the Nike + Human Race. I've really increased my stamina this year, and it's nice to know I can throw down a 5k any time-no problem. It was awesome, I got up around 6 to make sure I had enough time to get ready for another amazing day of tubing down the Wisconsin river. Bob and Ann picked me up about 9:20 and then we went just down the street and picked up Jim and Kerry (my first time meeting them). They are both just a kick, funny, happy people-who also have a pergola.(love that word) Kerry just got Nike+, so perhaps we'll be able to go running together.
Very few things can best the experience of a glorious summer day, attached to a floatilla of kickass people for 5 hours, just watching nature pass you by, while you drag your toes and fingers in the warm river water.
It was fun to watch Chris and Nick frolic on the sandbars, and try to do flips off the tubes. Hilarious to see what some people brought to drink…something called Dragon Juuse which was grape flavored malt beverage, and Mark brought a box of Franzia wine, which quickly lost the soggy box, and soon it looked like he was drinking out of a large blood bag.
Bob brought a new waterproof digital camera, and it was great to see pictures and video of the day after dinner.
I slept really well last night.
